How do you deal with a person who is obsessed with your child?

My daughter's ex boyfriend keeps calling her phone and begging her to get back together. Their relationship has been over for the past tw months but between now and then he has called her phone and left messages and even emailed her 120 times! Tomorrow we are going to get a restraining order. My husband wants to take matter in to his on hands but I begged him not to do that
